  • Tomarrow I am leaving on a big jet plane to my wonderful big bro. Then, after being in Iowa for about a week, we are going to meet up with some friends and take a round about way back home. So for the next to weeks you probably won't hear to much out of me (not like you would anyway, right?). So I have decieded to leave you with one brilliant tid bit to ponder while I am gone. I read this in the readers digest.

"In the world of online dating, a five-foot-eight-inch man has to make $146,000 more a year than a six-foot-tall man to get the same number of dates."

Guys always get stereotyped as being shallow, but am I wrong to say that that is being more than just a tad bit shallow. Is height really that important?

So with that I am off to pack. goodbye.

P.S. I am most certainly 6' not 5' 11." At least I like to think so.

  • This site's been hijacked!!! aAaAaahhhhHHhhhHHhhh!!!!!

In keeping with the theme of the owner's posting style, I will leave you with a poem:

    Justin has mad writing skills,
But he needs to post more.
    I say this in fear,
    His readers will bore.

    So why not rally together,
And leave a comment or two,
    To encourage him to write,
    And post something new!

    Cheers.

  • The Triple Crown and Flaming Tennis Balls

A horse hasn't won the triple crown in thirty years. This year Big Brown won the first two legs of it, the Kentuky Derby and the Preakness. He was as close as there was to a sure thing to win the Belmont Stakes and the triple crown. Big Brown's trainer even boastingly garuanteed that his horse would win. Well, he sure didn't win. In fact he finished last. He is the only horse ever with a chance to win the triple crown and finish last. He lost to a horse that in a previous race he had beaten by more than twenty lengths. So what was wrong with Big Brown? Thats the weird thing no one can figure out a reason why he finished last. Big Brown has undergone several tests and nothing seems wrong with him. I have a theory. God wanted to prove one of his proverbs correct. Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. Thats just my theory.

JD's brother told him about something that the guys back in Ohio did. It sounded pretty crazy and exciting. They soaked tennis balls in gasoline,(I know a terrible waste of gasoling) lit them and threw them back and forth to each other. JD considered his brother a trustworthy source so we decieded to give it a try. After our youth Bible study JD and Brandon came over to my house. Brandon, being the chicken that he is deceided not to participate and videoed parts of our adventue on his phone. JD poured some gasoline on a tennis ball and into a little countainer while I looked inside for a lighter. After a long search I found the lighter right were it should have been and went outside to have some scary fun. We rolled the tennis ball around a little more in the gas and finally decieded that it was ready. I took the lighter and lit the tennis ball. Whooosh. It flamed up and singed my eyebrows. Nah, just kidding but it did start on fire. It burned with about a six inch flame. I will admit I am a little bit of a chicken when it comes to picking up flaming tennis balls so JD was the first to pick it up. He tossed it my way but I of course did not catch it and it bounced on the gravel leaving little fires with each bounce that quickly extinguished. I couldn't quite force myself to pick up the fire and eventually the first tennis ball went out. During the second tennis ball I accually did pick up the burning tennis ball and heaved it JD's way. At some point one of my shoe laces caught on fire. This caused some frightened screams and ended with me kicking my shoe high into the air with resulted with the fire being extinguished. Other exciting moments included JD's hand catching on fire and also when we finally successfully tossed it back and forth a couple times. Anyway it may not have been the safest thing to do but it was thorouly exciting and no one got hurt, although my hand does still smell a tad bit like gasoline. If you want another perspective I'm sure JD a.k.a kiltedblogger will post something about it on his site.

    good night now

  • Doesn't my site look new and improved. I don't know if I quite like it but it will stay at least for a while.

You know how in my last post I mentioned how sick I was of the Mariners losing. Well I guess I'm not the only person who is sick of it. John McLaren, the Mariners manager, just went off on a tirade that included a large quantity of colorful language. I wonder if it will work as a motivational tactic. One can only hope.

In other news the Celtics won the first game of the NBA finals. I was happy to see that. Paul Pierce got "hurt" and came back and played like normal hitting several key shots down the stretch. He was taken off on  a wheelchair. The faker.

Rainy days are no good. I can't work on rainy days. I can't play basketball outside at my house. I can't go play tennis or softball or anything fun outside so what do I usually end up doing. Yup you guessed it, playing video games alone or with a couple of friends. I know in times passed I have been a big defender of video game and I do still enjoy playing them but after a while they just make a guy feel like he's a bum. So I guess I say all that to say that if any of you guys have some genius ideas of things to do on rainy days I would love to hear them. Your suggestions, if you have any, could range from things for someone to do by himself or for a group of people. Oh, and please don't suggest reading.

  • Russell Westbrook

March 27th was the last day that I updated. A lot has happened since than. I won't take the time to name all the things or even any I suppose.

Last year I worked during the summer in the warehouse sacking seed. I worked the swing shift so almost every evening I would listen to the Seattle Mariners' baseball games. They wern't supposed to be that good last year but they almost made the playoffs. I was disappointed and have been a rabid fan ever since. During the offseanson they traded for Eric Bedard( a dominating young pitcher). So this year they were supposed to be good. In fact many baseball experts perdicted them to win their division. My dear, precious Seattle Mariners. They are terrible. They are currently 13.5 games behind in their division. I had high hopes for this season and now they are looking sorta hopeless. Just sort of a random fact to demonstrate how bad they are, they have only three players hitting over .260 and they only have one player hitting over .300. Oh well a least its only baseball. Something to pass the time until collage football season finally arrives.

Now I do realize that most of you, well all of you except Travis, don't care at all about what I just wrote, but I have come to the realiztion that if I am going to have a xanga site I may as well write about things that interest me because if I don't I will come up with the ever so popular " My life is pretty boring and I don't have anything to write about" posts. So if I start posting on a consistant basis it will probably involve the bazers lottery pick, (Russell Westbrook, please) maybe a little Oregon football, and if your really lucky maybe a little more lamenting about the Mariners' woes. I will leave you with this tear-jearking poem, and yes I did write this by myself

    The Marniers are bad,

    It makes me sad,

It would make me ever so glad,

If they went on a twenty game winning streak.

Oh shoot, I forgot to talk about the NBA finals, Boston VS LA. Two fanchises that have combined for thity of the sixty-one NBA titles. Oh Boston please win. I cannot stand Kobe. My reason: because if he wins this one everybody is going to be comparing him to Jordan(plus the lakers and blazers are rivals. Just makes me wanna puke.

Btw I do know that glad and streak don't ryhme.
